Liquid Glucosamine

There are many different forms of glucosamine available to consumers today. According to the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council, glucosamine sulfate and glucosamine hydrochloride are the primary sources of external glucosamine available that the body can readily absorb and utilize. Glucosamine HCL is 99% pure while glucosamine sulfate is up to 80% pure as it is chemically altered, containing potassium and sodium stabilizers.

Glucosamine Absorption

Typically supplements of glucosamine come in tablet, capsule or powder form. The body requires several hours to digest these supplements. It takes the body anywhere from six to 10 hours to absorb the glucosamine and reach peak levels for performance benefits. This depends largely on metabolism, body weight and overall health. Over time, glucosamine can stabilize in the body and maintain health benefits including pain relief and cartilage repair.

Liquid Glucosamine Health Benefits

Some individuals are not able to consume glucosamine in its traditional formula. Fortunately there are alternatives available. Glucosamine is available in a liquid formulary. Liquid glucosamine contains 1,500 mg of glucosamine, the average maximum dose recommended by most health professionals. Like tablet, capsule, and powder formulations, liquid glucosamine improves joint mobility and helps reduce the pain associated with osteoarthritis.

Liquid formulas contain glucosamine sulfate, which is 80% pure glucosamine mixed with glucosamine HCL and stabilizers. Typically liquid formulas also contain other ingredients to improve joint function. These may include aloe, chondroitin, MSM, vitamins, omega fatty acids, MSM and other ingredients.
